The weather cleared enough today after all the interesting weather we have had over the past couple weeks, and I headed out Smiths Creek.
It has been over a year since I last visited here, and it was nice to see that not a lot has changed.
I made my way down the creek, checking out a lot of the little feeder creeks and ditches, for the most part there was very little going on as far as wildlife with the exception of a few ducks and turtles.
I headed South on the Northwest River for a bit, and was just about ready to turn and head home when I saw something floating across the rivers the wrong way, I grabbed my camera to see if I could get a better view, when I realized that it was a River Otter. I am pretty sure he did not see me until I had the camera out, as he went under the water shortly after I took the picture. He popped up about 20 yards away closer to the shore, it barked at me a couple of times then disappears, I waited and watched for a while, but he never reappeared.
