Had the urge to get out today, on a beautiful cool windy fall day. Even though it was only just over 2 miles it was nice.
I think I have said it here several times before, but there is nothing nicer then paddling a beautiful creek on a cool fall day. I would have been a little happier if there had been a little less wind.
I was a little annoyed, that I had to deal with a dying GPS, my primary GPS decided to stop working a couple of weeks ago, and today my old GPS decided that it was going to lock up every 5 minutes or so, and since I was having problems with the Garmin, I was also running the MotionX GPS Sport app on my iPhone. This was my first real world trip with this app, and I now know that it is not a good substitute for a real GPS (good in a clinch, but not real accurate) see the last picture. So I am shopping for a new GPS, and thinking about the Garmin Oregon 300 or 400, so if anyone has any insight they may have, please let me know...
For the second time I dumped dumped my kayak, and in an ironic twist, it was at the exact spot I dumped the last time a few years ago. This time I did it getting out of the kayak, where last time I dumped launching.
