Today was one of those had to do it trips, because the weather was so nice, and I doubt I will get another trip in this year.
Nothing fancy or impressive today just a great short trip with my son. We left from the Back Bay NWR visitor center, which I realized that I have never launched from, and just went out and around one of the small islands directly across the bay from the visitor center. The trip was a little over 3 miles, but would have been less had we not had to return for a quick pit stop.
The weather was clear and in the mid 60s, I guess if there is a complaint, that would be the water level was on the low side. We initially had planned to launch from Ashville Bridge Creek, which was low enough to not be enjoyable, which means that Little Island will be a long hike to get to water.
