I had originally planned to launch from Blackwater Landing, in Franklin, but after a couple of pinheads decided to be jerks right at the ramp, I decided I would just head on down the road...
I originally saw this launch while following the river on the satellite view on Yahoo Maps, I saw this and did a bit of research, and found that it was a VDGIF boat launch. This was to be the third paddle of the trifecta, but dealing with pinheads is not my strong point, so I think it turned out better this way.
I was hoping to do a longer trip, but the sudden thunder storm in the area, changed those plans, go figure, a pop up thunder storm in Southern Virginia in late July. :-)
This is also a nice stretch of river, that I hope to explore more soon, because I really had no time to really look around. Even though I headed up stream, this trip, the downstream area looks a lot more interesting, as it is a narrower twisty section of river.
