I added another boat to my collection Thursday, it is a Necky Elaho, and today was the first chance to get it out on the water. I had some things to attend to this morning, and sure enough as soon as I got the boat on the truck it started raining. I looked at the radar, and it looked like it was going to be light, but as soon as I got to Lotus Pond the sky opened up. I checked the radar again (wireless data is cool), and it was moving pretty fast, so I waited it out.
The Elaho is a bit different from the Tsunami, it is a lot thinner, and the primary stability is a lot less, and the boat is a lot skinnier. I like the feel of the boat, even though it will be a while to get used to the stability and the tightness.
It has been almost 2 months since I have been on Ashville Bridge Creek, and the noticeable change is that the Lotus have moved up the creek, and the area that had the most plants in years past has almost no plants whatsoever. The density of lotus makes passage a little tough, but take it slow with the rudder up and you should have no problems.
Paddling the creek right after a downpour, had a bit of a different feel, quiet very quiet.
