Well Summer is officially over, today was the first full day of fall, and I cannot think of a better way to welcome in fall that a nice long trip on the Northwest River. I meet up with Brian at the Baum road launch for what was planned to be about a 9 mile paddle, that ended up being a 12 mile trip. The creek is still pretty scummy, I think there is scum on the scum.
The wind was much stronger then the predicted 10 to 15, actually 28 gusting to 33, which changes the complexion of a trip, at least it was constant and did not shift into our faces for the return.
I have not spent much time on the western end of the Northwest river, and I will be remedying that in the near future.
Overall it was a pleasant trip, just to much wind.
