Mothers Day (Sort of) Smiths Creek

Well everything came together today, to get the entire family out kayaking. It has been a while since I loaded all three kayaks on the truck, but I figured it out. We went to Smiths Creek, which is great place for most conditions and abilities.
The water level was up a little higher then normal, due to the Southerly winds we've had for the last couple of days.
Nick brought the nets to clean up the creek, he has been on a mission to help out nature, he didn't find much more the a few plastic bottles and some cans, I did find a partially filled gas can on the river, but there usually isn't much litter on this creek.
The Iris I saw on my last trip out here have started blooming, and once again I took to many pictures.
Kay did find two baby turtles, a painted and a snapper, both about an inch and a half long. When we first saw the snapper, we thought it was dead, because it was just floating a couple of inches below the surface of the water, and it wasn't until it was out of the water for a good 30 seconds the it showed any signs of life, but after that it was fairly active.
All in all it was a good day kayaking on Smiths Creek.
