Opted to go out today, instead of Saturday, I like to go out in the cold, but I'll take 50 degree weather over low 40's, and that's what we had today. Sunny with Temps in the lower to mid 50's wind out of the South at 8 to 10 MPH, just a beautiful winter day in Hampton Roads.
Headed down to Ashville Bridge Creek, to launch from Lotus Garden Park, the water level was just a little lower then average, with no problems launching. The creek was calm and quiet, as winter has set in here, as evidenced by some remnants of ice in the shaded fringes of the creek, left over from last night. Headed South from the launch, and came across what's left of last summers Lotus's, essentially a bunch of dead stems, and a couple of seed pods, left exposed above the water. The rain and winds have knocked down much of what's left of the reeds and grass.
