Its about time, almost a month since I have been able to get on the water, either fighting the weather or this darn cold. I had to get on the water today, we had temps in the mid 50's, with about 12 mph of wind out of the southwest. I headed down to the Princess Anne Wildlife Management area, to take a cruise around the Pocohontas Marsh. At the launch site, it felt warmer then the 55 it actually was, and there was little or no wind at the launch site, and I almost removed a layer before heading out. Heading down the channel I knew I had made the right decision on keeping that extra layer, because as I got closer to the end the was more and thicker ice. The actual bay was rather windy, with a lot of wind chop, and some spray in the face. After making it to the marsh, I decided to head South, essentially into the wind, and planning to make use of the tail wind on the return, at this point I wasn't sure how far I could go today, after being off for a month. I really couldn't get in to a lot of places, because the water level was a little low today, actually I had to stay a good 10+ yards of the shore or I would be planting my paddle in the mud every stroke. I didn't take a lot of pictures today, to windy, and just not a lot to see.
