Another beautiful fall day here in Hampton Roads, windy but beautiful, temps in the mid 70's and not a cloud in the sky (exact opposite of the last week and a half) wind out of the NW at 15 with gusts to 22 and building. Today I was looking for a quick run in a hopefully wind protected area, well it was short, but the wind did play a factor... Today I headed for a new location Owl Creek, which is a small body of water behind the Virginia Marine Science Museum, primarily salt marsh. Note to self salt marshes are stinky at low tide. Owl Creek is a nice little (short) run, unless you like the urban paddling scene (I Don't) as long as you stay to the North end. There are a couple of little side creeks off of the main channels, that I will take a look at next time, because this area is tidal, and the tide was on its way out...
