Played a little hooky today, and left at noon, because it was in the low 80's and the dew point was in the 60's wind out of the East at 8. So I took my daughter and her boyfriend out to Back Bay for a cruise around the some of the islands of the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge. The water level as low, and it was a little bit of a pain to launch, but not that bad. Heading out was in to the Easterly wind, a little workout, but knowing the free ride home was waiting made it better... Not a lot to really see thins time of year, as the water temps are so high in Back Bay that it seems the only thing that turtles only need to come up for air, and not body temperature regulation, I am guessing that they may need to stay deep to cool off, but we did see a lot of heads popping up. Kay did find a good sized yellow belly slider turtle, in the shallows. For the rest of the trip, we didn't see anything else of real interest, except for cloud 9 or eleven depending on how you look at it...
