Weather was in the low 80s with light winds out of the east. Went to check on the Osprey nest I've been watching for the last couple of months, and no joy, as far as I can tell the nest is abandoned, bummer. Okay that being said, how about the rest of the trip. Left from Lovitts Landing on Beggars Bridge Creek, water level was lower then I've seen it in the past month or so. On the way out I missed the turn I needed to take, and ended up in a dead-end cove, so I looked around a little bit and was enjoying the birds and such, while stopping for a drink, I saw quite a few Dragon Flies. and they didn't have bushes in the background, so I took a few pictures, and some actually turned out ( 5 of 20). Just spent the rest of the trip out enjoying the sights and sounds. I was approaching the nest, and was looking for any activity (pretty much visible for ½ to ¾ mile) and there was none. Hung out an round the nest for a little while, talked to a family from Chesapeake going around the island the other way, Got a call from Dave, him and his son evaded Garage Sale duty and were on London Bridge Creek. Decided to head on around Long Island, at the cut I saw some cool red flowers (No idea of what they were), got some pictures of them to share. Quite a few people fishing at the cut, and not catching much but small perch, no keepers. On the fishing I did notice that it appears that most of the Gar and Carp were gone, and the small fish are coming out of the weed and venturing out in to the channel.
