Today was in the upper 70's wind was 10 to 15 out of the Southeast. I wanted to try out launching from Lovitt's Landing, and check out the Osprey's on Long Island that I've been watching. This is a good location to launch from, only a half mile form the bay, and it puts you right in the middle of all the islands the make up the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge. I cruised around a few of the islands, and watched various fish Gar and Bass feeding at the edge of the reeds. The water was real clear and I saw tons of carp in the shallows, just hanging out. I headed down to where the osprey nest is, a long haul directly into the wind. The pair continues to hang around the nest, today they were feeding, and basically hanging around the nest. I expect to hopefully see some chicks on my next visit, as osprey eggs usually hatch in June. I'm going to try to head out here again in a couple week, and maybe I'll see some chicks
