Dozier Bridge Launch is part of the City of Virginia Beach's Waterway Access Sites program. This launch site is easily accessible off of Princess Anne Road between Holland Road and Seaboard Road. The launch area is a roughly 15 foot wide wooden dock in about 1 foot or so of water The water level is dependent on the recent weather, if its been raining and/or the wind has been out of the south, there will be plenty of water including flooding the dock a bit, if there have been consistent winds out of the north, you may find nothing but mud, and in that case head elsewhere Back Bay or Pungo Ferry Road. Once again, there are no other facilities available, other then the 4 paved parking spots.
This is a real easy in and easy out spot, but not a whole lot to see.
Heading to the right (under the bridge) will take you down a long canal, for about 2.5 miles at which point the creek open into a more "natural" shoreline. Continuing down stream will eventually (3-4 miles) take you to North Landing River.
Heading left (under the pipes) will take you up stream through some residential and commercial areas, and to London Bridge Creek which joins the Lynnhaven River/Bay.
This launch Site is open Sunrise to Sunset
