Bennetts Creek Park
This is a nice little park in Suffolk with all amenities, that reminds me of a small Munden Point Park. There are three concrete ramps for powerboats, and a small beach just to the south of the ramps, that is the place to launch your kayak from.
There was a fair amount of traffic on the ramps the day we visited, so you may have a problem getting your kayak closer then the parking lot (about 25yds to the closest spot), and the boardwalk does not have direct access to the beach.
There is a Kayak-Canoe trail to the Nansemond River, 2.6 Miles according to the sign, or you can take either of the branches to the south.
Keep in mind that this are is tidal, so consult a tide chart when planning a trip here. Also keep in mind that at low tide, the bottom is very soft mud.
Thanks Ray for the suggestion...
